Maintenance Technician

Locations: Baraboo, WI | Dane County, WI | Iowa 

Patriot Properties is seeking a dependable, skilled, and motivated Maintenance Technician to support our residential apartment communities. We are looking for an experienced professional who can manage day-to-day maintenance operations, troubleshoot issues independently, and efficiently complete service requests while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete daily work orders in a timely and professional manner

  • Travel between multiple properties throughout the day and week

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule as required

  • Troubleshoot and repair household appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, and garbage disposals

  • Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures and bathroom components

  • Perform general building maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks

  • Diagnose maintenance issues and determine appropriate solutions independently

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas

  • Communicate professionally with residents, vendors, and team members

  • Utilize smartphone-based systems to manage work orders, document completed tasks, take photos, track mileage, and provide updates

  • Perform basic carpentry work as needed

  • Assist with unit turns, renovations, and move-in readiness preparation

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of apartment, multi-family, or residential maintenance experience required

  • Experience troubleshooting appliances, plumbing, electrical systems, drywall, and painting

  • Basic carpentry skills and the ability to safely operate hand and power tools

  • Comfortable using smartphone applications, digital work order systems, and property management software 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Reliable personal vehicle required

  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds

Additional Information

  • Employees are required to use their own reliable vehicle for travel between properties

  • Employees are reimbursed for approved mileage incurred while clocked in and traveling between company properties during their scheduled workday. Mileage reimbursement is reflected on each paycheck.
